Cover review:
What first draw my eyes when staring at the cover, was the red title, and blue grass. This mysterious, blue toned cover connects perfectly with the story. So in terms of matching with the content that will further be read, it's good. The color selection for the title contrasts with the blue background, and I presume the color red is due to a murder within the story. The blue rainy background with a women, symbolizes the mystery behind the murder. In terms of design I am not completely compelled by it, but I do like it. I give the cover 3.8/5.
Story review:
This mystery, thriller novel promesis a lot of it. It's a story that narrates the mystery behind the disappearance of alumni students from Harvad's college. The main character, Hester Thursby, who's the institution's library, uses her research skills along with her fellow detective Angela White, to solve who broke into the Pinebank, and find who killed a student. This is not a story I would personally enjoy as a reader, since I'm not into murder/mystery solving novels, usually when I read books, I like to part away from reality, and read YA, or fantasy. Yet, for those who love a thriller, horror, mystery vibe/feeling. This would definitely be a enjoyable novel towards that audience. I would give the story 3.6/5, not just because it's a topic I'm not really into, but also because I find it kind of messy and hard to understand and wrap my mind around it.
