I'm not sure if it is immediately apparent, but Edwin Hill's Watch Her is a new installment in the Hester Thursby detective series. Though these books seem episodic by nature, I'm personally not a fan of starting a series halfway through. The opening chapters have potential but haven't 100% captured my attention.
