I do not read a ton of fantasy books (though I do not shy away from the genre either), but I did very much enjoy this book. The author did a really good job of building an interesting world, and despite the length I kept turning the pages not only for the plot but also to learn more about the history between the Mars and Earth War.
The author also crafted some very intriguing characters. It was very interesting to read about the way the young people struggled to maintain a sense of identity despite being sent to an entirely new world and forced to forge their own brand new community.
This book was very long, and I think there are some places where it could have been cut down to make a bit more of a concise read. However, overall I did enjoy this book and I would definitely recommend it!
