Tired of civil wars within a country? Well, then, how about civil wars between two planets? This sounds exciting to me. The concept of Mercury Group, the contrast between the lifestyles of rigid Mars and relaxed Earth is a suitable one for a novel set in future.
The simple and straightforward language makes it easy to comprehend the text and still maintains beauty - "The most antiquated choice was also sometimes the most suitable."
Good use of imagery and simile. "Mars was like an unborn child, still tethered to the mother world by an umbilical cord."
Dialogues are good too. "Sometimes the fight over the treasure is more important than the treasure itself."
But there is a lot of telling. It would be good if the things were shown instead of just being dumped on the readers.
Overall it is an interesting read.
