I'm searching for the words to accurately describe this book. It is unbelievable the years of suffering that is recounted in these pages. You might be thinking, why read a story that is so tragic. I have to say that although It depicts a horrific time I also found It to be a beautiful account of love and courage. The family fought hard to stay together and had no selfish intentions and continually fought to survive as a whole. The book includes photos and maps and I found that helpful to create an accurate picture in my mind. I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to not only learn about this families story but to also to learn more about a time in history that should not be forgotten. Grab some Kleenex and also watch the documentary Ghost Mountain. What an amazing addition to hear the voices and see the actual area. Even after all that he has been through you will see a soft spoken man with a heart warming smile. What a fantastic book.
