This is a pretty tough book to swallow, but a very important one to understand and learn just exactly what Mae and his family went through to be reunited and to be free. Mae is truly courageous to have gone through all that he’s gone through and relive is by being able to tell us his story with the help of his son, James. This book makes me really appreciate all that my parents have done and also not take anyone for granted. Also, while we might be upset with how it is in America, we're alo really lucky to be living in America.
