Unfortunately, never received
I looked forward to reading this book and submitting a candid review; however, I never received it. My first impression reading was quite favorable. Based on the blurb, I was fully prepared to be engrossed by the story, I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy the writing. From how the author describes the moon as "Heaven’s most adored lantern, largest and brightest, floating high in the black curtain of the skies," I was hooked.
I reached out to BookishFirst customer service and was told that the publisher had already sent its Advanced Reader Copies out. There was no way of going back and either correcting the address or resending me a copy. I also regret that there is no way for my profile to be corrected to show that I could not keep up my end of the bargain.
Nevertheless, I am on the waitlist for the title at my local library and look forward to learning more. Hopefully, this review will clean my "review record" on the Bookish First system.
