How do you rate this true story anything other than five stars.
Thank you Taing family for writting this amazing book. What Mae went through (and what everyone else went through) is so hard to believe, yet it really happened. The struggles and hardship that this country went through is hard to fathom. I have learned a lot and after finishing this book I find myself looking up more information on the Cambodian Genocide. I understand that this book was also used as the backbone of a documentary showcasing Mae. I hope to find it somewhere and watch it also. I plan on having my daughter read this book as part of her homeschool Asain Studies course. This is a story that must not be forgotten and I'm very glad that I choose this novel with my bookish first points! I do wish that a little more background information was included by the authors son who helped write this.
