This part of history would benefit from a first hand account like this.

This is a story that deserves to be told, and the author of the story deserves to tell it. The book is slow to set the scene and I don't know if someone who isn't familiar with this part of history would immediate realize the magnitude of the horror that transpired in the Khmer Rouge genocide. Just from knowing a little bit of the history I would expect this to be a brutal and heart breaking tale. I think the cover is beautiful, elegant and conveys the somberness of what is within the pages.
