There have been more books lately that fall into this category: memoirs of people who have survived the worst of humanity. This book is written by the son of a man who lived in Cambodia during the time of Pol Pot, a brutal dictator with an ax to grind against anyone who dared to be different than his ideal. Though this book might not be pleasant to read, it is necessary for history to be told.
