This horrifying time for Cambodians is one I was unaware of until I read this first impression. The author's desire to tell his father's story so people like me are not only informed, but empathetic to others who have suffered at the hands of vicious people, is powerful and courageous. The writing feels just like a well-written fictional tale and left me wanting to read more.
