I like the cover - it's dark and yet simple and I think conveys the tagline well. The synopsis is intriguing - Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge is a part of history that isn't often taught, usually just a footnote underlying the Vietnam War. The excerpt started off fairly well with the author's note, which was well written. The part that started Mae's story, however, became a bit disjointed. Starting with the Apollo moon landing in 1969 and entitled Apollo, the chapter then jumps forward six years. So I'm not sure how the chapter would keep Apollo as a theme. But I would still pick up this book and give it a go to read about a part of history I know little about.
