A serious whodunnit with a very likable female lead and covens of teenage witches thrown in? Yes, please, sign me up!
There were a number of crimes throughout Alice Blanchard's Trace of Evil, some present day and some decades old, and I was 99% satisfied with how they all tied together by the end of the book. Parts of the ending seemed rushed to get in all the resolutions but I didn't mind too much.
The elements of witchcraft and spell casting brought me back to my early high school years and the younger generation of characters felt perfectly relatable- no easy feat!
Bookish rumor has it, this book is the first in a series and with all the potential this one had to go deeper, I will 100% be on the lookout for the next one!
