3.5 stars. This book had a lot going on such as murder, witchcraft, affairs, teenage drug use and drinking, cold cases, etc. I found it to be a little much and don’t feel that the issues were explicitly resolved in the end. I would have appreciated it more if the author picked a few of the dramatic elements and stuck to telling the story about those main plot points to keep it more cohesive and relevant. I also would have liked a bigger focus on the witchcraft aspect.
If you like detective mysteries it’s a pretty solid mystery but be prepared for the plot to drift in a few different directions first. Overall, I enjoyed the main premise of the book but I would not necessarily want to revisit the book or recommend it to a friend.
