Hooked from the beginning. Willow died 20 years earlier. Opening scenes are at the graveyard for deathaversary where we meet Natalie, her sister Grace and niece. Has you intrigued that there are cold cases of people missing from 20 years ago.
Natalie has been promoted and others mainly men don’t appreciate that but Natalie has clearly had to work harder to get where she is. So she’s on call and drives Branden another detective home as he has had too much to drink which appears to have been a frequent thing over the last few weeks. But he has just announced him and his wife are expecting so his behaviour seems a little odd, then when they arrive at his home they find his wife dead, murdered but who by?
This is so well written it just draw’s you in, you want to know more. Natalie also clearly fancies the boss will anything come of that? Will the cold cases get solved. Was Brandon’s wife murdered by the person he suggested or could it be someone closer to home. So many questions need answers.
I loved this the pace, the writing is good, the characters are likeable and I need to know more so encourages you to keep reading. What a great start to a book one I will now have to get and finish.
