This is exactly what Trace of Evil gives you. The writing of Alice Blanchard makes the characters people you know and care about and paints a vivid picture of the town everyone lives in. This book will put it hooks in you from the very beginning. With this being the first of a series, I will be waiting on the edge of my seat to dive back in and see where the sequel will take Detective Lockhart and me.
