I wasn't sure what to think of this book, until I read the first impression and was captivated by the plot and main character, Natalie Lockhart. I am always drawn to strong, female leads in books, and Natalie was no exception to that. I really enjoyed the way the author mastered the entrancing and atmospheric conditions through her descriptions to set up the chilling setting to this story. The setting of this story takes place in a town that is haunted by it's long history of wrongfully executing "witches". This has led to scores of young teenage girls experimenting with various magic and witchcraft.
The heart of this story surrounds the mysterious murder in town that Natalie has been assigned to investigate. This murder eerily reminds Natalie of her sister's murder that occurred twenty years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and could not put it down. I am certainly looking forward to reading more from this author!
