To The Waters and The Wild is written well but ultimately it wasn't for me. It took me so long to get into this book because the pacing was so slow. I enjoyed the lush world and land of the Eire with their mysticism and clans with their fierce fighting ways.

I thought it was an interesting time period to cover especially with the Romans looking to invade and conquer their land. It causes strife and unity among the chieftains in Eire.

Keelin is our main character and we follow her as she learns the magic ways of her people. But like I said the story was so slow in the beginning that it was hard to keep my interest and took me a few weeks to finish this book because I kept putting it aside.

It's not for me, but if you like historical fiction about Northern clans and the Roman Empire knocking on their door, then you will enjoy this book because it is written very well.
