I really wanted to love this story, unfortunately it was just ok. For me, there wasn't enough character development. And too much passage of time without moments to connect. One chapter they are celebrating Samhain, and just when you think you will experience the cementing of a relationship, it ends and the next chapter focuses on a different character and it is suddenly spring. So, for me, I found it hard to connect to any one character.
There is a lot of alluding to in this story. We are given some information about the power and abilities of the priests and priestesses, but in a vague matter. There was great potential for this story, it was a good plot. Unfortunately it wasn't constructed as well as it could have been.
