I received this book awhile back from Bookish First, and I finally got around to reading it. I found the cover and plot about .ancient Eire to be an intriguing combination.
Overall, I thought the story was good. The plot is rather slow moving, like a lazy stream that takes it's time getting anywhere. The author does a really nice job of creating each scene, filling in details about the places in the story; I consider this book to be very atmospheric.
The characterization is reasonably well done; I felt that I got a good sense of what they people were like. The main character, Keelin, has a relationship with one of the men in the book, Brian, that seems to be mostly friendship for most of the book; although the author gives the occasional glimpse that their feelings for each other are a bit more than just friendship.
I honestly feel this book is about a 3.5.
