To The Waters and The Wild...I really wish that I enjoyed you more. I went into this book with high expectations regarding Gaelic folk lore and magic, and I was disappointed with the end result. I feel like the writing just kept missing the mark. I felt like there was so much opportunity within the storyline to expand on some of the things happening and to give the reader more insight on the backstory and magic system. To me, it felt like so many things were just skimmed over and the story kept on moving.
I would have loved to get more in depth with the Dagda and the magic involved in the story. As well, I felt like the character and relationship building was really weak and I left the story feeling like I wanted to get more out of the characters. If the book would have been 200 more pages, I feel like we could have gotten a complete and fulfilling book.
