⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “To The Waters and The Wild” by S.C. McGrath is a relatively new book genre for me. I typically do not feel the pull of the historical-fantasy novel. Having said that, I really liked this book. If I had to compare, I would put it somewhere in the “Outlander” style but it is really not doing this book justice. It stands alone as a tale of Ireland and the brave souls who defended their beloved land against great odds. As a history major, I know that Ireland was one of the few countries never occupied nor defeated by the mighty Roman Empire. That is no small thing and of great pride to the people of this beautiful country. This love story shares some of the great Irish history…a history of spirits, healers, Gaelic religion and beliefs, warriors, love, clans, courage, and a strength that could not be defeated. If you like a little fantasy imbued with history and romance, you will love “To The Waters and The Wild.” I thank BookishFirst, author S.C. McGrath, and Seanachie Press for this advanced review copy. As always, my reviews are honest and without bias. My love for Ireland, which I have visited, will never end, for I am Irish and Scottish by birth…and that is a good thing.
