Unfortunately I DNF'd this book. I had such high hopes when submitting my first look, but ultimately I just could not get through it. I tried to push through it as much as I could but it was taking so much time searching for a little bit of something to keep me going. There wasn't much action or romance and the little bit of romance that did start happening was more like a background story that wasn't of any central importance. I was even looking forward to seeing the main character's healing powers get more interesting but it just did not come through until much, much later on in the book which was a bit disappointing. The writing for me was just unsatisfying- it continued to skip through time without any indication of doing so and left the reader trying to figure out what was going, and not in a twisty- thriller way.
