It’s been awhile since I have read a really captivating YA fantasy, but I was really pleasantly surprised with To the Waters and the Wild. It was a beautiful, heartwarming story with a little of everything- ancient magic, romance, history, war, mythology, and a beautiful lush setting. I really enjoy this book and Keelin completely captured my heart. Her life among her Clan, her magic, and her relationship with Brian were some of my favorite elements of the book.
Downside: not all of the characters are as flesh out as Keelin. Unfortunately, we only get surface level depth with most of the supporting characters. Also, some parts of the plot were confusing because they switched between different POVs and time frames. But overall, it was a magical and atmospheric read. You might like To the Waters and the Wild if you like:
