The excerpt I was provided was 11 pages. 11 pages! That is entirely too short to determine if I like anything about the plot or the characters. So far they seemed... fine? The dialogue was a little stilted, but I'm willing to chalk that up to the different time period/setting. Maybe I would've warmed up to it a bit more with a few more pages. Seriously, given the length of other/previous excerpts on BookishFirst, this is doing the author a disservice.
