I must preface my review with the fact that I have not read Dean Koontz in many years because his books gave me nightmares. While this book is scary, what is most frightening is that I think it could really happen. I loved the main character Jane Hawk! She was strong physically and mentally yet not perfect. The people she was able to trust on her journey were equally great. I especially loved the Grandfather. I did have s few problems. Sometimes there were too many words. I would have edited some more. And I am not really satisfied with the ending. Most story lines were tied up but I feel like it was purposefully left somewhat unfinished to lead to another book. Overall, a satisfying read that I pray never comes true.
