I really enjoyed the first of the series, but I felt that this one had a much slower pace for a normal Dean Koontz novel. There was a great deal of time spent on building this into a series, which is great, but I missed the tension that normal happens in a self-contained novel.
Still, this was a gripping novel that helps move the story forward. Will Jane be able to take down the evil that is attempting to take over the brains of everyone?

Jane is a perfect heroine. She has vulnerabilities that make her wise, and withhold going in guns blazing with no thoughts of recourse. She is smart and resourceful.
