I was worried that Koontz wouldn't be able to keep up the pace in this second book in his Jane Hawk series. I needn't have worried. This book is every bit as gripping as the first.

What struck me most about this book was how horrifyingly real the concepts of everything horrible that happened to the victims were. These things could actually happen - today - to any of us. This made The Whispering Room more frightening than any horror novel I've ever read. (I'm not going to state what the concepts were - no spoilers here - you MUST read this series and this book!)

The Hawk series is arguably Koontz's best work. Each page of The Whispering Room is filled with action, tension, terror, thrills. This is an excellent book.
