From the very first page, I was hooked on this story. Jane immediately strikes me as competent, capable, but also vulnerable. I appreciate that she is looking for a partner, because it's clear that what she's facing will require more than her skills alone. That makes sense in this world where we almost always get farther by working together. I find myself on the fence about the partner she's chosen, however. Despite his recent loss, there is just something that seems off about him. And Miss Cora...I just know she is someone who will stick with me for a long, long time to come.
