I first read a Dean Koontz book when in high school and it scared me stupid. I only remember he wrote it and there was a scarecrow that moved in a little by little each day.
This has caught my eye because maybe it wouldn't be so scary. From the first chapter it seems a little sci-fi which contradicts the crime blurb. I guess I need to read it all to see how it works out.
