Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors. He doesn’t disappoint with this book either. While I haven’t read the first book, I could follow along easily but I’m going to buy the first. Reading this book was like watching a really bad car wreck or something gory, you don’t want to see it but you can’t stop looking! It was so good I couldn’t stop reading. But I was also experiencing what the characters were. A company called Far Horizons, along with government, are responsible for injecting people with serum containing nanotechnology which migrates to the brain and takes over to control the person and what they do. There has been a big increase in suicides. A lot of people have been murdered and it’s been called a suicide. A former FBI agent knows all of this and is on the run from those who would see her dead. She is trying to bring down the bad guys. She contacts a journalist for help. During all of this, there’s a serial killer at large. This is one world I wouldn’t want to live in. But it makes you stop and think, with technology being the way it is, who knows when this could really happen.
