Do you love stories about cult classics? Do you love stories about other cultures? Do you love stories about a main character who finds his/her voice? If so, then boy, do I have a story for you. The Virtue of Sin by Shannon Schuren is about all of these things, and more! Miriam, the main character, is a part of a cult and she lives in a place called New Jerusalem. She is supposed to marry one person, but she ends up with another. This leads her to really start questioning everything she has known about her life. It is a very interesting and fascinating look at what life inside of a cult would be like. I also recently read a memoir called Little Sister by Patricia Chadwick, which was a real life look inside of a religious cult. I think that these stories are extremely fascinating and an intimate look at a life I would otherwise know nothing about it. This one gets four stars from me!
