I am obsessed with cults and cult leaders and how ordinary, generally intelligent people can get sucked into this madness. From that aspect, this book was really interesting and portrayed cults really well.

The downfall was the characters. Miriam came off as whiny, and Caleb was insufferable. I just didn't really care for either of them. I enjoyed Aaron though.

Overall, the world building was good and the storyline played out well. There was enough mystery to keep you guessing, though the logic jumps the characters made seemed a little too far.

The ending was good. Overall, this was an enjoyable read, but not something I'd want to reread or maybe even recommend. Perhaps when it has been edited and tightened up it would be better.
