Between the contrasting words of the title ("virtue" vs. "sin") and the contrasting images of the pinned butterflies vs. the free butterfly, this book immediately caught my attention. I'm always curious to see how an author will deal with an established trope, and I'm especially curious in this case about how the ceremony "goes wrong" and the effect that has.
