Daniel runs a cult in which Miriam and her family are members. She's never known anything different, so when she's expected to marry at sixteen, she's ready because she's convinced she'll be marrying someone she thinks she loves. Surprise, not so much! A last minute incident and she ends up with someone else. This book reads well, but I just don't love things that are religious in nature - even if it's on purpose to show the dangers of a cult.
