I am a big fan of cult fiction and the religious element incorporated into this book is extremely interesting and intrigued me right from the beginning! I greatly appreciate how the author juggles the perspective of male and female characters in the book. At first I was hesitant of having a the perspective of one of the male character from this highly patriarchal cult in some of the chapters but through her writing, the author is slowly but surely showing how patriarchal societies not only harm women but also harm the men in those societies. I'm curious about what is to happen to Miriam and Aaron now that they are in this situation and I'm also interested in what will become of Caleb as the sinister side of the cult continues to reveal itself. I can't wait to know what happens next!
