Oooo, another suspenseful thriller, only this one was based around lucid dreams. What an exciting concept to have a dream and imagine that it can come alive... but once someone starts to dream about killing others, then maybe it's time to realize it has gone too far

The first book I've read by this author and found it on a table in my library categorized as a must-read paperback. I thought why not? Paul escaped his hometown to get away when one of his friends die and two of his classmates/friends are convicted. However one of them escapes before getting caught and is never seen again. Now copycat killings are happening and Paul finds himself back in town to care for his mother who had a fall and injured herself.

The narrative changed from Paul's past to the present, in addition to a detective's POV. The pace was a bit slow but kicked off towards the ending with some twists I wasn't expecting. There are breadcrumbs to follow to figure out who is behind the copycat killings along with where in the heck Crabtree went.

Overall, I liked the creepiness of the book but could not immerse myself with the characters or understand
