The Shadows is definitely creepy. It's a slow burn that I didn't figure out until the end. There was actually an OMG moment towards the end that I didn't see coming. The dream journals and lucid dreams were an interesting concept. Charlie was a disturbing individual.
This book kept me guessing, but there were a few parts that I didn't think were explained well or tied together well. Some of the characters seemed extraneous and some of the plot didn't seem cohesive.
The way the murders were all tied together was kind of weird for me.
Overall not a bad read, just not as good as The Whisper Man. A great concept, but the execution could have been a little better. Looking forward to what he writes next!
