I read the Whisper Man....so of course I wanted to read The Shadows.
First off, this town. This town this story is set in....Creepville..or so it should be renamed (Actual name: Gritten). It was the perfect place for just the vibes that Author Alex North was trying to convey to us all. One of those places that the moment you set foot in it it just doesn't feel right. The people are strange, the woods are scaryAF, and it's home to one very creepy dude (or more) with a very dark reputation. Gruesome murders..two different timelines....possible copy cat killer....and a town dripping with mystery and folklore. This book gave all the creep vibes we could handle and some. The characters were mysterious and intense. The buildup was effective. You know when promotional reviews for scary movies say something along the lines of, "have you looking over your shoulder" ?? Yeah...this book.
Highly recommend. Then go out and get The Whisper Man. Another addictive read....
