I read The Whisper Man and liked it but also was expecting something different. The first few pages of The Shadows sold me on what I was hoping for The Whisper Man to be. I was so excited and really hoping to win the book!
It took me an entire month to finish this book because I would set it down and have a hard time picking it back up. I wasn't expecting so much dream-world/dream talk. I had a hard time following where I was in the story or whether it was real or not, who killed who. Too many narratives. However, I will continue to keep reading Alex North because I really feel like he has the potential to peak my interest but something just isn't hitting it. He is very creative and has wonderful world building skills but I am missing something in both of the books.
