Absolutely fantastic! Alex North delivers again with The Shadows, a dark, atmospheric thriller with lots of twists and turns thrown in to keep you guessing until the end. It read like a spooky nightmare, suffused with dread and deception from every corner. The characters range from sad and lonely to repulsive, and they all add something special to the story. I love how the plot kept me guessing and especially the bit about the protagonist imagining the person that was actually dead the whole time, that was a really neat little addition in the book and something that I didn't expect.
