I read The Whisper Man by Alex North earlier this year so I had high hopes for his second novel, The Shadows. And man, it did not disappoint. I started reading this book yesterday and only stopped to eat and sleep. This story oozed with suspense and mystery. I constantly felt like I was receiving a “clue” but didn’t know exactly how to place it - I love that. The story had so many twists each more surprising then the one before. There was so much character development within each character. I felt like I knew children exactly like James, Billy, and Charlie which made this storyline all the more believable. I didn’t love the ending and thus only gave it 4 stars but I throughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
