It sounds like a good thriller so I gave it two stars but the underlying message bugs me. That a kid looks like an outsider and doesn’t talk means they are a killer? Great! That’s a message we want out there in the hands of emotional, scared, stressed, and hormonal teenagers. I totally agree as a librarian I should never put my own opinion into a situation when it comes to purchasing. Censorship is wrong with a capital W but there is morality bit in there. I’m not going to hand a teen something that could be harmful to them. Books that call quiet kids who dress in dark colors and smile strange killers is ethically wrong. It is profiling and it puts kids into a box and harms them. I am not pleased with this book.
