This book is a creepy mystery that kept me turning pages. I loved the descriptions and writing style that created such an atmospheric setting.
I thoroughly enjoyed the main character and several side characters that were interesting and distinct. I cared about some of these characters and looked forward to their scenes. However, I felt our investigator character was underdeveloped. We had more than one point of view with her being one of them and I found her point of view the least interesting. I saw some interesting development with her character early on and really wanted that to continue.
I found the plot very interesting and unique. There were a couple points that I found unbelievable, but still became invested in the story.
I also absolutely loved the scenes in the bookstore. North has a wonderfully unique writing style and he made those scenes feel warm and cozy just as the character felt.
Overall I had a great time with this book and gave it 4 stars. I am so excited to see what else North does with his atmospheric writing style.
