First of all I loved The Whisper Man by Alex North, his previous book. It had everything I wanted in a good book. Creepiness, mystery, twists and turns and most of all left me questioning everything I just read. So I was a bit leery about his next book, The Shadows. Would it live up to my high expectations? Well let me tell you it was equally creepy, chilling, and disturbing. The main character, Paul, is trying to put his life back together after a series of events that happened twenty-five years ago. He returns to his hometown to see his ailing mother who is dying. Childhood memories return along with murders and dreams that are real. Or are they? And then there’s Charlie. One scary off-the-wall dude!! When I finished this book I was left with many unanswered questions. I believe that was the authors intent. Good book. I recommend!
