I was definitely curious to keep reading right from the very start of the book. That’s always a good sign for me that I’m going to have a hard time putting a book down. The second chapter got very descriptive and maybe went on a smidge too much, not enough to lose interest, just ready to get on with it. I like that you immediately get a look into the personal lives of the characters. I think that there was just enough description of the murders that it wasn’t too gory or detailed to be too bothersome. Obviously a book with death can be a little much sometimes and really make you squeamish, but this didn’t overdo it. You also get a sense of who Paul is and it makes me want to learn more. Is he trying to redeem himself in some way? What is he trying to hide from his past?
