This book starts with a bang as Paul Adams remembers being fifteen years old and on his way to the police station to be interviewed about the death of his friend and the horror of passing the crime scene on the journey there. Then in the present day a cop on her day off getting ready to visit her father's grave, a slower, gentler pace which is suddenly shattered by the call to a crime scene.
This is vividly written and I thoroughly enjoyed the first few chapters which hold the promise of a great read to come. Tense and tightly written this short extract shows this book will be a page turner and one I will definitely be pre-ordering.
