My first impression reading this sample of The Shadows is how well the author knows the two elements to develop the atmosphere of bone chilling fear. The mother telling her son. do not worry, everything will be ok, when the tone and body language of the mother is completely opposite, absolute fear. My second impression is the author knows the public's fascination with death and unsolved mysteries, put the two of these topics together and this book is another bestseller. I am looking forward to "disappearing" into this story!
