The atmospheric build up is entrancing - already the air is ripe with ritualism. The fifteen year old protagonist in the prologue is clearly grown and far from home when a similar situation seems to be occurring again. The murder of a teenage boy and the presence of red handprints is common to both, but why the 25 year time gap?!
