I LOVED The Whisper Man - it was deliciously dark and eerie and creepy and paced absolutely perfectly with revelations and misdirection teased out gently to maximize tension. This latest Alex North promises the same... From the opening line I was hooked - I never knew a Charlie but I'm captivated by the concept of the kid that other kids recognize as A Very Big Problem but that manages to slip under the radar of adults. It's the dark side of Eddie Haskell, and it offers so many marvelous opportunities for the kind of creepy psychologically dark tale that I have come to expect from North! I REALLY REALLY hope I get to read this one early!!
